Benin's official eVisa FAQ says foreign nationals can submit an eVisa application online and separately gives African nationals a general 90-day visa-free rule. A Mexico passport comes from North America, so do not assume that African-national rule covers this trip.
Before purchasing an eVisa, confirm whether your exact passport has any separate exemption. If a visa is required, use the published eVisa choices as the starting point rather than relying on a generic travel-site label.
Imagine a Mexico traveller taking a regional West African itinerary with a possible second Benin entry. The visa decision should follow that route. If there is only one arrival, repeated-entry permission may add no value; if Benin appears twice in the itinerary, the entry question changes immediately.
A sensible Benin visa check starts before you choose a visa product. Look at the passport in your hand, the date you expect to reach Benin and whether the itinerary contains a second arrival after a side trip.
Application window
Benin publishes a processing range of one to 96 hours, but it still recommends applying at least seven days before entry. The shorter figure is a possible processing time, not a reason to wait until the last minute.

If payment fails, first check the bank's online and international transaction settings rather than creating duplicate applications. The platform relies on 3-D Secure card authentication.
Dates and route
A one-day date error can be more important than it looks when travel is tightly scheduled. Compare the application with the final flight or border itinerary before confirming.
A regional itinerary can change the visa choice even when the total trip is short. Leaving Benin for another country and returning is a re-entry, not a continuation of the original entry.
Travel document
The application begins with passport information for a reason: the authorization is connected to that document. A typo in the number is not the same kind of mistake as a typo in an informal note.
For travellers departing from Mexico, it is also worth checking that airline bookings use a name format that can be reconciled with the passport. Minor formatting differences are common, but the visa form itself should follow the travel document.

Benin states that eVisa validity begins on the intended date of entry entered in the travel-data section.
The published self-service fees are €50 for 30-day single entry, €75 for 30-day multiple entry and €100 for 90-day multiple entry.
Keep the application number sent by email after confirmed payment because it is used for status tracking.
Check the passport, the first Benin arrival date and every planned re-entry. If those three facts are settled, the visa choice is much easier to judge.
